The drying time of oil paints is longer than other mediums like acrylic or watercolor, which gives the artist more time to blend and work on the painting. The oil painting technique is suitable for detailed and realistic artworks, and for the representation of depth and light. It’s also a traditional medium with a long history and it’s still widely used by contemporary artists.
